1. Information We Collect

We believe in transparency. Here's exactly what we collect and why:

  • Account Information: Email address and hashed password (we never store passwords in plain text)
  • Subscription Data: Information about your subscriptions that you choose to record (service names, costs, renewal dates)
  • That's It. We don't collect browsing history, device information, location data, or any other unnecessary information

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide and improve our service:

  • Provide access to your subscription tracking dashboard
  • Send renewal reminders (if you enable them)
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Improve the application based on usage patterns
  • Source icons for custom services you add (when not in our standard library)

We do NOT:

  • Sell your data to third parties
  • Show you ads based on your data
  • Share your information with marketing companies
  • Track you across the web

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information. Period.

The only exceptions:

  • With your explicit consent
  • To comply with legal obligations (court orders, etc.)
  • To protect our rights or the safety of others

4. Data Security

Your data is stored securely in Australia using Neon (serverless PostgreSQL) with industry-standard encryption:

  • All passwords are hashed using bcrypt (never stored in plain text)
  • Database connections use TLS encryption
  • Regular security audits and updates
  • Minimal data retention—we only keep what's necessary

5. Third-Party Services

We use carefully selected third-party services that share our privacy values:

  • Stack Auth: For authentication (OAuth via Google, Apple)
  • Neon: For secure database hosting in Australia
  • Resend: For transactional emails (support, password resets)

These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them as well.

6. OAuth Authentication

When you sign in with Google or Apple:

  • We only request your email address (nothing else)
  • We don't access your contacts, calendar, or other data
  • You can revoke access anytime through your Google/Apple account settings

7. Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

  • Access: View all your personal information anytime
  • Correct: Update inaccurate information through your profile
  • Delete: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Withdraw Consent: Revoke OAuth permissions anytime

To use Subs Manager, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Providing accurate and current information
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. Free Service Commitment

We're committed to keeping core features free forever. This means:

  • Adding and tracking unlimited subscriptions
  • Multi-currency support
  • Tagging and organization features
  • Export functionality

We may introduce optional premium features in the future, but the core functionality will always be free.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of all subscription data you enter into the Service. By using the Service, you grant us permission to:

  • Store and process your subscription data
  • Use your data to provide the Service to you
  • Analyze anonymized, aggregated data to improve the Service

We will never sell your personal data or share it without your consent.

6. Limitation of Liability

Subs Manager helps you track subscriptions, but you remain responsible for managing and canceling your actual subscription services. We don't have access to or control over your actual subscriptions.

Why I Built This

I was frustrated with existing subscription trackers. They follow the same playbook: give you a trial, then lock everything useful behind a paywall. Apps designed to help you save money from subscription costs... that charge a subscription cost.

So I built Subs Manager with a different philosophy: core features free forever. No bait and switch. No artificial limitations. Just a straightforward tool that does what it promises.

Our Mission

Subscription creep is real. The average person has 12 paid subscriptions (Statista, 2024), and 42% of people admit they've forgotten about at least one subscription. Even worse, 89% underestimate how much they actually spend, some by hundreds of dollars per month.

We're here to help you:

We're committed to keeping this free as long as possible. However, if hosting costs become unsustainable and we haven't found a viable way to cover them, we'll give you plenty of advance notice and ensure you can export all your data before making any changes to the service.

Getting Started

How do I add a subscription?

Click the "Add Subscription" button in the top right. You can either search our database of 220+ popular services or add a custom subscription. Fill in the details like cost, renewal date, and billing cycle, then save!

Can I track subscriptions in different currencies?

Yes! Subs Manager supports multiple currencies. When adding a subscription, select your currency from the dropdown. Your monthly and annual totals will be calculated accordingly.

What are filters and how do I use them?

Filters help you organize and find your subscriptions quickly. There are two types:

  • Platform: Where you access the service (Netflix, Amazon, Google, etc.)
  • Payment Method: How you pay (Credit Card, PayPal, Direct Debit)

Click "Show Filters" to find subscriptions like "Which subscriptions are on my expiring credit card?" or "What Amazon services am I paying for?"

Managing Subscriptions

How do I cancel a subscription?

Subs Manager helps you track subscriptions, but you'll need to cancel them directly with the service provider. When viewing a subscription, we provide a direct link to the service's cancellation page to make it easier.

Can I edit or delete subscriptions?

Yes! Click on any subscription to edit its details. You can update the cost, renewal date, tags, notes, or delete it entirely. Changes are saved immediately.

What's the difference between monthly and yearly billing?

Monthly billing charges you every month, while yearly billing charges once per year. Subs Manager automatically converts everything to monthly equivalents for your totals, so you can see your true monthly cost even if you pay annually.

Account & Privacy

Is my data private?

Absolutely. We collect only what's necessary (email and subscription data you enter). We never sell your data, show ads, or track you. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Can I export my data?

Yes! You can export all your subscription data at any time. This feature is coming soon.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings (gear icon) → Sign Out. Then email us at support@app24.au to request account deletion. We'll permanently delete your data within 30 days.
